more fun with vidding
1. still not convinced i'm ever going to end up with a complete vid. i've got a 3:45 song and about :50 of blank space left, although i went through my clips and found things i think might work for about 80% of that. then it's the 20%, then fixing the clips that i dropped in but aren't working for me, then cleaning up the cuts to hit the beats. that's not so bad, right?
2. scrolling through my clips made me realize just how much time kirk spends getting choked or gasping after being choked. and since my favorite kind of vid is the kind that takes the footage and makes it do something totally different, i kind of want a vid about kirk and breathplay. (i have no song and i don't think there's enough variety in the clips to make it work, though.)
3. the problem with slowly teaching myself to vid is that i go from 'hey, there should be a vid!' to 'hey, i should make a vid!', which is why i have one half done, one sketched out, and three more i'm vaguely thinking about. one of the ones i'm thinking about is bsg, though, and i can't fathom sitting down to clip all of bsg. also, one is bandom, and that's a whole 'nother footage problem i'm not ready to dive into.
4. the one i'm just barely sketching out and trying to figure out if it would work is an Uhura vid to Beyonce's 'if i were a boy.' problems: 1) i don't know if there's enough footage 2) i don't know if the footage matches the feel of the song 3) what i'm really riffing on is the music video and not the music itself and 4) and i so don't want to dive into the Uhura wank.
5. i want vids to 'cuz i can' in just about every every fandom.
5a. i think the thing about ending up hating the songs you vid to doesn't apply to people who willingly listen to songs on repeat for days.
5b. i do have 'cuz i can' stuck in my head pretty much 24.7, though.
