other thoughts:
-damn, how perfect was that line when they're walking into Thames House. "Captain Jack Harkness. Ianto Jones. We're Torchwood." with the guns and the timing? I am such a sucker for well choreographed threats.
-I'm really glad they (i mean the writers) went there, with the choosing the children and the most fit and most deserving, because that's absolutely how it would go. (and i bet if the western nations in the room could pawn it off on Somebody Else, they absolutely would.) it's so ugly but it's ugly in a way that rings very true to me, rather than ugly in the ~edgy way.
-the chief scientist or whatever he is, at MI5, looks so much like John Spencer. I keep seeing him and going "Leo! ...Leo ;___;"
-Ianto on the phone with his 'btw, that goes for you guys tapping my phone too'
-that scene with Alice and the agent who wikipedia helpfully informs me is named Johnson, where Alice basically says "If you've pissed Jack off, he will come back and fuck your shit up, because he's immortal and hence fearless": exists purely as foreshadowing, y/n/mfy? (of course, this depends on torchwood knowing what and why they're doing with scenes, but this series has been so much better put together it kind of almost makes me think they might.)

in conclusion: RTD, YOU HAD BETTER FIX IT OR I WILL BE VERY UPSET.
