wow, rtd. way to burn your show to the ground and then salt the motherfucking earth.

you know how yesterday i said that this discussion of which kids felt ugly in a totally real way, as opposed to the ~edgy way? this episode would be the ~edgy, what with the murder-suicide and the grandson thing and the epic hurt in jack's soul that forces him to just up and leave.

rtd, you were doing so well too, right up until the last few minutes of part 4.

I just don't get it. There were so many other options, but no, they had to choose the lol edgiest one. Couldn't they wait 20 minutes for the soldiers to find a terminally ill child and use them instead? Still horrible, but not as unnecessary as using your own grandchild, wtaf?

The only way I'll keep watch this show is if Ianto's back next season. Otherwise I'm done with it. Which is a shame, because for all its flaws (and there were many of them), it was a fun show. :(

I just... I really felt like the Torchwood writers had taken a class or something. Like they'd had a course or something in how to write in a competent way and not just a lulzy bad way and then that last bit was so over the top it was ridiculous. Like... WHAT?

I'm still angry and upset and I'm assuming RTD never wanted there to be another season of Torchwood? I can't see how else they're supposed to do this shit with just Gwen.

This really felt like an end to me. Like, if you were going to write an episode of Torchwood so that no one could ever do it again, I think it'd look a lot like this.

ugh. it was absolutely ridiculous and kind of felt like kind of a fuck you to the series. while i can see a bunch of ways they could restart a new season i can't see a way they can do it in a way that made any kind of emotional sense.

this felt like an end. and a pretty poorly executed one at that.

How can you have 3 episodes of awesome and then go down hill like that? I don't understand. It makes me want to punch things. And it very much had that ~we are so edgy feel to it. Lame, lame, lame.
